I just recently finished my latest piece of a Tarpon, “Silver and Green.” It is the pinnacle of any fish pieces I have dine thus far. Really, with every painting I try to get better…if not, whats the point. Of most of the fish I have painted like this, scales have never been much of a factor, having usually just hinted at the scales…suggested them. With this painting, that wouldn’t work, it was time to do the real deal, and I am happy with it. Being that painting is such a free flowing activity, it is so hard to combine the geometric shapes and patterns into the piece without it looking so hard edged and structured. I tried to keep it simple and not over-do it. If you look closely, towards then end I had to re-do the scale pattern, it just wasn’t looking right. Next, its time to study the Redfish a little closer.
Very nice work. Can’t wait to see your work on the redfish.
Paul, you ARE getting BETTER and BETTER….keep up the GREAT work! Love ya! Mom
