Inspirado – Photography Phriday

Somehow I have become lucky enough to be able to call these 3 folks friends of mine.  Not that I know them that well outside of emailing, and running into them occasionally, but because they are awesome at what they do and are friendly enough to let me use some of their pictures here and there for paintings.  Every now and then, I will peruse through their photos, and when I see a particular photo, I HAVE to paint it.  Check out these guys’ photography…I’m use you will run across some you will recognize, these guys are the best!

Louis Cahill – I do get to see Louis quite often, someday he will invite me to fish with him.

“Say hello to my big brown trout”

Just a new idea for some paintings, I think it could be pretty fun. Here are just a couple sketches.

Music Monday – Vinyls and Wine

Nothing cooler than an old record player, some vino and some cool old album covers to peruse. This song came from that….it is merely a sketch at this point, you can tell from the recording quality I hope. Love the reverb feel though…anyway, here it is.

Dad finally hands it down…his 1964 Fender Super Reverb Amp…awesome, thanks ZZ Puckett!

Doug McKnight-The fishiest man on the planet

One of my good buddies, Doug McKnight, is the truest angler I know. I want to say it was back around 1997 that we met in Dallas, TX. Since then, we have worked together in Dallas and Jackson, WY. He now lives in Livingston, MT where all the fishiest of people merge. Doug is a brilliant fly tyer, artist and fishing guide. If you ever get to Livingston and need a fishing guide, call him…he has quite the resume of big brown trout. Doug, the world wants to see your latest pattern, “The Ginger Bear.”

Oh yea, it’s artsy Wednesday

I have been working on some logos and my Flood Tide shirt stuff, so I have no real new “real” art…so here is a new shirt design and some funky versions of a Redfish painting I did recently.
